Analog turntables

STEPS

Turn your turntable on
Connect the turntable to the sound card (in most cases a double male RCA cable) on a stereo input. Make sure to use inputs 1-2 or 3-4
Connect the sound card to your device
Plug your speakers / headphones to your device with the jack cable
Open edjing Scratch on your device: a pop-up will appear for you to select your vinyl type, and the deck you want to control with your turntable.

For turntables that only have a phono output:

You can use a sound card that supports phono input such as Behringer UFO 202 or ART USB PHONO PLUS. For those who have a sound card that only receives Line, you can use an external phono pre-amplifier such as ART-DEEJAY PRE II. It will manage the signal conversion.

Crossfader curve adjustment

Mixfader works like a typical DJ-mixer crossfader and then its curve can be adjusted. You'll find in edjing Scratch, for example, a large range of crossfader shapes, like the Scratch Cut, the Slow Fade or the Dipped. Whether you are sooner tighter cut or gradual smooth fade, there's one for everyone's taste.

Hamster (reverse) switch

The Hamster switch lets you reverse the Mixfader usage direction. Rather kick with your thumb? No problem, just activate the Hamster switch! You'll love to scratch with a smart crossfader.
Role assignment

Of course, Mixfader can be your crossfader, but it can also be more than that. Depending on the adjustment possibilities available on the app you use, Mixfader will become your pitch, volume, or effect fader like Filter or Phaser. And the list goes on.

Cut-in point control

Mixfader delivers a high level of crossfader adjustment, including the possibility to customize your fader depending on your scratching technique. Set the cut-in point of your fader where your want and thus reduce or increase the dead space.

ADVANCED KEY-RELATED FEATURES VIA PITCH 'N TIME DJ (LICENCE INCLUDED)

A voucher for Serato Pitch 'n Time DJ is included with the DDJ-SX3 so you can use Key Shift, Key Sync, Pitch Play and other advanced features to smoothly and harmonically mix tracks. Adjust the key of tracks by semitone with Key Shift, and sync the keys of tracks during mixes with Key Sync. Pitch Play lets you trigger your Hot Cues in a range of different keys and assign them to the controller’s Performance Pads so you can play them like a keyboard.

STAND-ALONE DJ MIXER WITH MULTIPLE INPUTS/OUTPUTS

The DDJ-SX3 has four external input terminals for multi players, turntables, DJ controllers and more. Connect various types of speakers to the XLR and RCA master out terminals and the TRS jack booth out terminal. You can also use the DDJ-SX3 as a stand-alone DJ mixer without connecting a computer.
